Don't Let The Koch Brothers Deny Your Right To Vote! (Video and Petition)

"Through their web of political influence, billionaire political operatives Charles and David Koch have bought access to democracy's lifeblood: free and fair elections. The Kochs have funded efforts to thwart 21 million Americans from voting and Koch dollars helped write and propose voting suppression bills in 38 states."

The video for today's post was posted on Youtube a few days ago... but, unfortunately the petiton hadn't started yet, so there was no link at the time. But, as it is ready now and we also received an email from Robert Greenwald of the Brave New Foundation earlier on the Koch brothers issue, we now have the pleasure to not only post the video and the link to the petiton (with, of course, a few extra related links for good measure), but also share Robert's email with you guys.

(Talking of the Brave New Foundation, you might also want to check out  the "Fun (and Political) Time: 'Brave New PacMan Vs Sarah Palin and Co'" post as well. It made quite a few of our visitors and friends laugh when we published it... )

By the way, the link to the petiton is right underneath the PS...
Don't worry, you can't miss it.

Stay safe...

The Email From Robert Greenwald

Dear Loup,
For the past 8 months we have been investigating the billionaire Koch brothers and presenting the results of their political influence to you. With this latest installment, we have discovered what we think is their worst offense yet. Through their web of financial influence, Charles and David Koch are buying access to democracy's lifeblood: free and fair elections. They are literally trying to take away your right to vote!
We are partnering with about one dozen organizations and launching a campaign to demand Attorney General Eric Holder enforce the landmark Voting Rights Act and stop discriminatory voter suppression laws.
With a stroke of his pen, Attorney General Holder can stop the Kochs and these Jim Crow laws, which are denying voting rights for disabled individuals, students, seniors and people of color. Under a provision in the 1965 Voting Rights Act, Holder can deny states like Florida, South Carolina and others from imposing new voter restrictions.
The Kochs have the heart of American democracy in their sights. Let's defeat the Kochs and defend the democratic process.
Yours,
Robert Greenwald
and the Brave New Foundation team
