The Storyline
Arthur Christmas reveals the incredible, never-before seen answer to every child's question: 'So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?' The answer: Santa's exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole. But at the center of the film is a story about a family in a state of comic dysfunction and an unlikely hero, Arthur, with an urgent mission that must be completed before Christmas morning dawns.
More About The Story
Yep, the animators behind Wallace and Gromit went all 3D on us to reveal Santa's high-tech secret!
As we all very well know, it's
a mystery that has puzzled generations of children. How on Earth does Santa
manage to visit the homes of every child in the world in just one night?
Now the truth can be told, thanks to Britain's very own Aardman
animation...
Beneath the North Pole, there is (allegedly) a huge military operation
staffed by 1.6 million elves (we told you it was a huge op, didn't we?), who ensure that all two billion presents
are delivered on time for Christmas Eve. Also (and still allegedly) the sleigh used by Santa (Jim
Broadbent) is a massive invisible airship called the S1.
But this year
they've managed to miss out one little girl Yikes!. So it's up to Santa's son
Arthur (James McAvoy) and crotchety old Grandsanta (Bill Nighy) (it's a family run business and all, by the way...) to save Christmas!
Director: Sarah Smith
Starring: James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie, Jim Broadbent, Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Ashley Jensen
Rated PG for some mild rude humor
Arthur's Big Wrap
Unfortunately this one is for UK residents only (but, I'm pretty sure the equivalent exists for other countries) and involves going to the movie's Facebook page. Once there, all you need to do is "Like" the Page (the link to it is included in the UK trailer) and you can play the game which consists in guessing what the wrapped presents are...
It's quite fun and you can win prizes. Cool! .
