When you have teenagers it can be difficult to do things as a family. They may feel that it is rather babyish to spend time with their parents and could even be embarrassed to be seen with them. However, it is still important to have family time and so worth thinking of things to do together.

Take away and video
Having family time at home could be a good way to get around the fact that they may not want to be seen with you. Ordering some take away food and watching a film or TV show that you all enjoy, could provide some family time as well. It may not be easy to find something to watch that you all enjoy, but it is possible if you all discuss it and are willing to compromise.

Foreign holiday
Going abroad is a tempting offer that most teenagers would be willing to take up. They would not have to feel embarrassed being seen with parents when they are in a country of strangers either. It can really bring a family together as well, when you are in a place that is new to all of you, as you will not know anyone else and so need to stick together.

Bowling
Bowling is a fun sport that many people enjoy. You do not have to be particularly fit to play and it is indoors so not weather dependent. However, it is somewhere where a lot of young people hang out and so your teenagers may be embarrassed to go with you. One way around this is to go to a place that is not your local, then they are less likely to come across their friends there.

Spectator sports
There are a lot of sports that are fun to watch. Going along to see games or matches as a family can be a lot of fun as well as exciting. If you are your children are fans of the same sports then you could have fun together watching them. You could watch them live or on the television together. If you are supporting the same team, it can be a great way of bonding as well.

Shopping
Shopping may not sound that exciting. However, everyone needs new things from time to time and if you, as a parent is paying, then this is a good opportunity to go out together. You can go to a shopping mall far away, if the teenager does not want to be seen with you. However, if you are willing to spend money on them, they should be grateful enough of that to want to come regardless.

It can seem difficult to find things to do with teenagers. As they are getting grown up, it is not surprising that they will want to do more things on their own. However, there are still things that you can do as a family and many things that they will want to be a part of. It is just a matter of finding a common interest.
