Halloween Decorations (Part 2)

Lighting is a great way of creating ambiance to your party and it is really important part of a successful décor. Creating the right ambiance is especially important when it comes to Halloween parties and here are five ideas that you can use at your party this autumn.

1. Pumpkin Head
Of course no Halloween party is proper without a big pumpkin head. Pumpkin heads are really nice for lighting and provide just the right ambiance to a Halloween party.

You can either use your own carving skills and create your own lantern or opt to buy a ready-made plastic lantern.

You can either use a candle inside the pumpkin or place LED lights inside, for example. The candle will be a bit more authentic but it is important to keep your eye on the pumpkin to make sure it doesn’t set on fire.

2. Christmas Lights With A Twist
If you have Christmas LED lights hanging around you can even make use of them at your Halloween party. You can place them hanging around the room and then just add some Halloween decorations around to give it a more sinister look.

For instance, add some spider webs or toy spiders around the room and the colourful bulbs won’t end up looking too festive.

3. Glowing Paint
There are also glow-in-the-dark paints available that you can use as part of your Halloween party. For instance, you can coat just simple cardboard boxes with the paint and place them around the room to add a spooky glow to the room.

The Urban Homestead also points out that it is possible to use glowing paint in the garden and this is something really fun for a Halloween night. You could paint tombstones around the garden, for example.

4. Fireworks
You would also use fireworks as part of creating the right ambiance. They are especially great during a Halloween night since they add a bit of wow-factor to the party. There are now even indoor fireworks that you can purchase and these will truly put some sparkle to your bunch bowl.

Browse through online retailers like Fireworks Crazy’s website for more information and make sure you pay attention to the safety when you are dealing with fireworks.

5. Glass Jars
If you want to add some candles around the house then you should use some basic simple glass jars. In order to be able to use your glass jars later you can add some Halloween flair by painting the jars with food colouring. For instance, using orange and green food colouring you can make sure the room gets a lovely Halloween glow.

You can then wash off the food colouring later and therefore use the jars at another time for other purposes.

The above ideas are very simple to execute and are all good ideas for other parties as well. Be creative with your lighting and remember that the ambiance is not only the lighting but also the whole feel of your party and thus you can reuse lights and decorations from other festivals.
